Mr. Potato Head Projec

 This is our final project and we were suposed to make some sort of Mr potato head look-alike. We had to create different parts for the Mr eggplant which what I chose to make my project, eyeglasses. hats, eyes, and other objects to put on my Mr eggplant.

I first had to look up something to draw my first idea was to draw an apple but later on I thought that drawing an eggplant would be more original. My graphics are neat but simple to make these graphics I based myself on the essential parts for a face, eyes , mouth, eyebrows and I added some funny hats to go with the faces.For my buttons I choose the block and bubble buttons because those are my favorites and they take little space. Two of my buttons (Face 1, Face 2) when they are clicked they put on a default face I programed to that button. Chapter 4 Project-Cleanup Robot

This is my chapter 4 project in which I use all or most of what Ive learned using Alice. The project consists of a robot gorilla that has to clean up the room by picking up the toys that are in the room. I had to created 4 methods, 2 for the gorilla (pickUp and putDown) and 2 for the world (putInCloset and putAway) with a whichObject parameter on them.

The pickUp method consisted of making the robot move to the desired object then to lower his arms to reach for the object then for the gorilla to move his arm up and lift the object. The putDown method was simply for the gorilla to put whichever object was in his hand on the floor.
For the putInCloset method the gorilla had to wait untilt he closet door was opened and then he would enter the closet turn around and get out of it with the closet door closing behind him.
The putAway method had the pick up, put down and put in closet methods were the gorilla picked up the object , move in the closet , put the object down and move out of the closet.

To create the methods I had to first think of what was the gorilla going to do in each especific method. Then I had to animate one part at a time. For example I started to animate the gorillas left arm and the moved to do the same on his right arm.
A parameter acts as a place holder and allows you to place in different values. I used my parameters in the pickUp and putAway methods to change which object would be put away.

The Cleanup Robot project had me use everything I had learned so far in alice. methods , parameters , loops, etc. To me this is my second best project so far and the longest I have worked in.
After this project I had learned how to use methods with parameters that had other methods in them which also used parameters, a bit confusing yet I managed somehow. Ive also learned how to make an animation more fluent and natural, in this animation I had to take care of the details and movement of the gorilla to make it look more normal.

Favorite Alice project

Alice is a free 3-D software that allow you to do simple or complex 3-D animations. Alice comes with a built in gallery of characters and locations that you can use to make an animation. My favorite project that I made using Alice was the Snowman Pick up because of the effort I had to make just to make the snowman bow down and raise its hat. This snowman is trying to hook up with a snow woman but the snow woman rejects him. The just turns around and clings his head forward(because he got rejected!). So far Ive learn how to make small animated stories using Alice. Also I have learned how to make new methods so the object or character learns how to perform a new action.

For this project I drew a Vulture, I started by making a sketch of the vulture. Then I drew the bird in Macromedia Flash. Finally I colored it and gave it some finishing touches. I chose to animate the Vulture Nodding his head. Follow the link to see my animated Vulture. I  only worked about an hour on this vulture so its not my best work, ill try to improve the animation and then re-upload the new version.

     This is Ezavala I am a sophomore at Castle Park High. I will be using this blog to post work or any related projects that I start or finish in my Multimedia class. I enrolled in this class  to learn the basics of animations so in the future I can do a little project of my own. My favorite part of this class is when we learn a new concept that helps me out in my animation skills , I am most interested in creating 2-D animations with high quality graphics and using Photoshop to illustrate those graphics.
